Lacerta Group LLC recently invested in expanded regional capabilities, new facilities, and innovative technology to strengthen our commitment to end-to-end customer service. Lacerta is a leading provider of innovative thermoformed packaging solutions that has built its reputation on product integrity, speed to market, and customer care. The acquisition of a facility in the Midwest and larger, consolidated warehousing space in the Northeast is helping customers across the country get packaging products faster and at a competitive price. Below you’ll find the details of our investments in 2022 that strengthen our continued dedication to serving our customers.

Attleboro Warehouse Expansion

Lacerta recently opened a fully refurbished and consolidated warehouse center in Attleboro, Mass. The location increases Lacerta’s previous warehousing space by 200,000 square feet. The 24/7 facility includes 19 service doors, an improved warehouse management system, simplified carrier/appointment scheduling, and product staging. The new space also centralizes Lacerta’s warehousing operations so that the company no longer ships from multiple locations.

Expanding Into the Midwest/West Markets

Lacerta also acquired the production facility and other assets of Portage Plastics Corporation in late 2022, expanding services in the Midwest and West markets. The 70,000-square-foot manufacturing and warehouse space include 11 thermoformers for production. Portage’s 51 employees were brought on to continue their roles as Lacerta employees. This experienced and skilled workforce produces a high-quality product certified for food customers, which enabled Lacerta to quickly incorporate the facility into our production schedule while maintaining the high standards our customers have come to expect. The Portage facility gives Lacerta additional production capacity that will help the company improve fill rates, as well as open land for potential future expansion. It is also strategically located near a key rail line, making sourcing raw materials more efficient and offering faster shipping times for customers.

Lacerta’s Capabilities Today

These recent investments complement Lacerta’s existing capabilities and locations in Massachusetts and Chatsworth, California. The company is highly invested in thermoforming technology, with 48 state-of-the-art, high-robotic thermoforming lines. The growing Lacerta team has 673 associates and an in-house team of packaging experts overseeing every stage of the process. Headquartered in Mansfield, Massachusetts, Lacerta has seven stateside facilities with over 683,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehousing space. All facilities operate under the current SQF certification.
